Kindly be informed that during the previous 3 months OSMR has analysed a large number of incidents reported by the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS) End-Users, who encountered difficulties in installing the new digital certificates required for the authentication process for NMVS (especially on the Windows 7 operating system).
OSMR has escalated to issue to the NMVS blue-print provider (Arvato Systems GmbH) and the solution is the following:
- Updating the operating system to the latest version for the End-Users who install the new digital certificates on Windows operating systems;
- Updating the Java version used by the software providers to connect to the NMVS platform.
Considering what has been mentioned before, OSMR recommends the following:
- End-Users who have difficulties in installing a newly generated digital certificate are advised to update their operating system to the latest available version.
- The NMVS End-Users’ software providers who encounter problems integrating the digital certificates (newly generated) into the local applications are recommended to update both their operating system and the Java version used by their applications.
