In this edition of our Voices of Collaboration series, we highlight the long-standing partnership between OSMR and Arvato Systems, the technology partner behind Romania’s National Medicines Verification System (NMVS).
Protecting patients from falsified medicines requires more than legislation alone – it depends on reliable technology, continuous innovation, and strong partnerships. Since the implementation of the National Medicines Verification System, the collaboration between OSMR and Arvato has been built on a shared commitment to ensuring the stability, security, and continuous improvement of the system.
Working side by side, the teams have addressed technical challenges, supported End-Users, and introduced new functionalities to respond to evolving operational needs.
Behind every successful system are dedicated professionals who work together to solve challenges, share expertise, and build lasting relationships based on trust. Over the years, the collaboration between the OSMR team and Alexandru Chetrusca, Business Relationship Manager at Arvato Systems, has developed into a trusted professional relationship built on responsiveness, openness, and a shared commitment to patient safety.
Reflecting on this collaboration, Alexandru highlights:
“Effective medicines verification relies not only on robust technology, but also on close collaboration with our national partners. Our shared objective is to continuously improve the system, respond to users’ needs, and ensure that medicines verification remains efficient, reliable and supportive of patient safety.”
Most recently, this collaboration resulted in the successful implementation of the National Alerts Management System (NAMS) in Romania. Designed to support pharmacies, wholesalers, hospitals, OSMR and the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (ANMDMR), NAMS provides a dedicated platform for managing alerts more efficiently, improving communication between stakeholders and contributing to a faster, more transparent alert resolution process.
As the medicines verification landscape continues to evolve, partnerships such as this demonstrate that innovation is driven not only by technology, but also by people who collaborate every day to improve it.
Through Voices of Collaboration, we continue to celebrate the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that strengthen medicines verification – because protecting patients is, above all, a collective effort.
