As it has been previously announced in the first edition of the OSMR Newsletter in March, Romania will be the Pilot country for the implementation of the new version of the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS) – Core 2.0 in the Production environment (PROD).
This means that a verification phase in the PROD environment is to be undergone, scheduled in the time interval: 3rd – 18th of April, 2023 and conducted by OSMR.
Safeguarding patients by providing access to authentic medicines is the ultimate goal of the Falsified Medicines Directive. OSMR, who is responsible for the implementation and management of the NMVS at national level, is fulfilling this goal by its continuous improvement approach to the system, placing time, effort and resources to maintaining a functional and robust system.
Therefore, once again, Romania has volunteered to be the Pilot country for this latest system release – Core 2.0.
