As we look ahead to 2026 with hope and optimism, we remain fully committed to continuously improving the National Medicines Verification ecosystem.
Before moving forward, however, let’s take a look at the 2025 key highlights. One of the major achievements of the year was the successful roll-out of the new system’s versions: NMVS Core 6.0 & Reporting Tool 6.0, followed by NMVS Core 7.0 & Reporting Tool 7.0. These releases introduced a series of improvements and new features designed to increase the efficiency and security of the NMVS (National Medicines Verification System).
Another important development related to the NMVS was the introduction of real-time system availability monitoring, which can now be accessed directly via the OSMR website – https://osmr.ro/en/status-snvm-in-timp-real/
In addition, our annual conference, “Patient Safety through Safe Medicines” focused on the study “Attitudes of the Romanian Population Towards Falsified Medicines”. The study’s recommendations, particularly those aimed at increasing public awareness related to the risks posed by falsified medicines, will be implemented in the course of this year.
Furthermore, 2025 marked a significant milestone for OSMR, as we had the pleasure of hosting both the Technical and Quality Assurance meeting and the General Managers’ meeting in Bucharest. These events provided valuable opportunities for participants to exchange best practices, share insights, and explore ways to further improve the efficiency and performance of the NMVS. We were also honored by the participation of the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices in Romania (ANMDMR), which contributed valuable perspectives from the authorities during both meetings.
Last year we also continued a valuable initiative introduced in previous years by welcoming students to discover OSMR and learn more about serialized medicines. Through this initiative, we are proud to support the next generation of professionals, who bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to our field.
As in previous years, we would also like to share our annual infographic illustrating the 2025 activity in the NMVS, highlighting the total number of transactions performed by the End-Users, as well as the alerts generated within the system.
