On 07th July 2022 the Cooperation Agreement between the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (ANMDMR), represented by Mr. Răzvan Mihai Prisada, President of ANMDMR and the Romanian Organization for Serializing Medicines (OSMR), represented by Mr. Dan Zaharescu, President of OSMR, has been signed.

Considering the particular importance that the implementation of the Falsified Medicines Directive has for all parties involved: manufacturers of medicinal products, Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAH), Parallel Import Authorisation Holders (PIAH), End-Users (pharmacies, hospitals, dialysis centers, wholesalers, PIAH) and software suppliers, the efficient collaboration between the two entities, with shared responsibilities according to the current legislation, was and is still essential for a successful implementation of the project at national level.

Ever since the beginning of the serialization project, in 2017, ANMDMR has been close to the OSMR team, providing the necessary support within the Working Groups, which were organized to define an optimal implementation strategy.

This Cooperation Agreement underlies the importance that both organizations place on the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS), the purpose of which is to prevent the entry of falsified medicines into the legal supply chain, ensuring thus patients’ access to authentic medicine.
